A short excerpt from the Delicious Fields (and other books) Apt. 9 Press launch at Raw Sugar in Ottawa in 2011. Video by Vanessa Nelson.

“Jeremy Hanson-Finger’s The Delicious Fields is a short story that defers its own narrative impulse in favour of movement and contrast. The fields in question are of flashes, shadows, and their source lights. The pieces that make up the story are exposures and distillations that demand attention and re-reading. This is an ambitious, thoughtful work from a young writer deserving of attention.”

Description:
The August 24 reading and book launch at Raw Sugar Cafe, hosted by Mr. Anstee and Apt. 9 Press, was a night of both celebration and mourning. Literary friends and family gathered in Raw Sugar’s embracing, Cold War-era furniture to drink Beau’s and say bye to Mr. Million and Ms. Mol, who are moving to Vancouver for bigger things, and Apt. 9, who is entering a brief hiatus after two years and 984 hand-stitched books.
